hello my friend

that was quite a break from blogging! life made other plans for me, but i'm back, blog, and i promise not to neglect you any more :)

sooooo its almost christmas.....WHAT?? where did the year go? at least i've finally finished my christmas shopping, but maaaaan it was a struggle when my body clock couldn't process the fact that it was december.

now i may have mentioned anthro a couple of times on this blog :P one day i would love to reach their level of design awesomeness, even though they probably have a TEAM of stylists and designers to assist. every time i check them out there's something new that i wish i had thought of first. so merry christmas anthropologie, this is my little ode to you :)

a very merry christmas to YOU also!

assignment no. 3

really enjoying these assignments and the oppportunity to say i'm studying AND improving my photography skills at the same time :) this assignment is titled "home/away". not sold on this picture yet, but it looks like it'll be the one i end up submitting.
what i would really love is to upgrade from my little olympus fe "point and shoot" and get a good SLR camera. can anyone recommend a good one? (for a beginner :p)

live, laugh, dream, design

i'm really not that great at taking photos. believe me, it's something i'm working on, because i have so much love and respect for photographers. but if you can look past the shoddiness of the image quality, i wanted to share with you my first completed project for uni.

this is a papercut i made to fit the galllery name "portrait". i love the fact that i'm studying architecture, and yet i get to make pretty pictures that have nothing to do with the fact :) anywho, for a first attempt at die cutting, i'm pretty chuffed with myself :p thus far, i haven't shared any pictures of my own work, only the amazing images, garments and artworks of incredible designers i adore, but if i keep practising my photography so that it reaches a standard i'm not ashamed of sharing, then maybe soon i'll have more to show.

cool stuff i've seen this week

pretty belt bracelet bangle by acommonthread on etsy. this one is sold (sad face!) but the very talented lady who made it also has a pretty wicked whale necklace you should take a peep at :p

take a closer look. that's right. dalton ghetti has sculpted the entire alphabet on pencil leads, one lead for one letter. holy guacamole! he also sculpts tiny heads, chainsaws and swinging hearts. wow. more information via green diary.

amen mr. dylan, amen. music philosophy is a project by mico, combining the awesomeness of typography and song lyrics into a super ball of ultimite awesomeness. i also quite like the posters featuring the genius of elton john and the beatles :)

yes that's a quite nice rug, you contemplate. but then you learn: each little piece ofstitched furry loveliness has been specially sourced. agustina woodgate's rugs are made from recycled teddy bears. creepy, you think?the ultimate in crafty ingenuity, i beg to differ.
